Outline Approval:

Establishes whether the principle behind a scheme, including the scale and nature of a proposed development, is acceptable.

Reserved Matters:

Once outline approval is granted, the details will be approved through a series of ‘reserved matters’ applications, which will outline specifics such as the detailed design of the new houses.

Section 106 agreement:

A legal agreement between a developer and the Council to require specific provisions, such as affordable housing and infrastructure, as part of the development.

Local Plan:

The Council is preparing a Local Plan setting out where the houses required for the next 20 years will be located. The plan is subject to independent review by a planning inspector.
